Caring for Our Community

Gainesville Health Care Center is part of the Not for Profit Gainesville Council on Aging, Inc., a provider of Skilled Nursing Services and Long-term Care.  Our Health Care Center has  been serving the Alachua County community since 1982. We are dedicated to delivering quality individual nursing and rehabilitation therapy to every person entrusted to our care. Our 180-bed facility, in the University of Florida town of Gainesville, Florida, is conveniently located across the Shands and VA Hospital Complexes.

Our Healthcare Services Include:

Inpatient rehabilitation including physical, occupational and speech therapy.                               
IV therapy and wound care.                                                                                                      
Care for those diagnosed with Huntington’s disease.                                                                 
Alzheimer’s program.                                                                                                               
Special rehabilitation for those challenged by amputation, arthritis, orthopedic complications and stroke.                                                                                                                                     
HIV specialized care.                                                                                                                                          

Residents enjoy a variety of opportunities for:

On-site Beauty and Barber Shop. 

Access to religious services for people of all faiths.

We accept Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Compensation, VA and most managed care plans and private insurance.
